A garage fills up slowly: a treadmill nobody uses, boxes from the last move, a chest freezer in the carport that quit two summers ago. One day the car doesn’t fit. We clear it out, load from wherever things are stacked and sweep the floor when it’s empty.
What can you clear out of a garage?
Almost everything except hazardous waste:
- Boxes, bins, old shelving and workbenches
- Lawn mowers, tillers and trimmers, drained of fuel
- Bikes, treadmills and weight benches
- Old fridges, chest freezers and washers
- Tires, at $10–$15 each
- Scrap metal, lumber scraps and broken furniture
Appliances and metal go to recycling. Fridges and freezers carry a $25–$40 refrigerant fee each, and our appliance removal page explains why. Everything else goes to the proper county facility.
Attics, basements and storage units
Same job, different stairs. We carry from wherever it is: down from the attic, up the basement steps, out of a rented storage unit. You don’t need to bring anything down or out first. Stairs add $25–$50. An old tube TV in the attic carries a $20–$35 fee, because South Carolina keeps TVs out of its landfills and they go to electronics recycling.
For a storage unit, meet us at the facility or arrange access with the office, and we load straight from the unit into the trailer.
How much of the trailer will it take?
It’s hard to say without seeing it, which is why we ask for a photo. As a guide, a quarter of the trailer costs $140–$180, half costs $250–$320 and a full load costs $450–$550. The trailer holds about 15 cubic yards.
Every load size is on the pricing page. Text a photo to (864) 555-0142 and we’ll confirm the price before we load anything.
What do you leave behind?
Paint, chemicals, pesticides, pool chemicals, fuel and propane tanks. We don’t take hazardous waste, but several of the common garage leftovers have a local drop-off:
| Item | Where it can go |
|---|---|
| Used motor oil, oil filters, antifreeze | Oconee County recycling centers, for county residents |
| Car batteries | Oconee County recycling centers |
| Paint | Pickens County recycle centers take it in a special area, for Pickens residents |
| Chemicals, pesticides, fuel | Oconee County household hazardous waste days, when held |
Oconee County has held household hazardous waste collection days at Seneca High School for county residents from time to time. Call Oconee County Solid Waste at (864) 888-1440 to ask about the next one, and what to do with paint in the meantime. If you live in Clemson, Central or Six Mile, you’re in Pickens County, so the paint drop-off at the Pickens recycle centers applies to you. Our Oconee County dump guide covers Oconee’s recycling centers and what each one takes.
Is the shed full too?
When the garage is full, the shed out back usually is too. We can clear the shed as well, and if the shed itself has had it, we can take it down: see shed removal.
Start with the estimator for a ballpark, then send a photo of the garage with the door open.
