Junk removal in Pendleton

Pendleton is in Anderson County, so Anderson’s rules decide where your junk can go, not Oconee’s or Pickens’. We haul from homes and rentals around town and price each job from a photo before we load.

Which county rules apply in Pendleton?

Anderson County’s. Clemson is next door, but Pickens County’s centers and the City of Clemson’s bulk pickup don’t serve Pendleton addresses. Here’s where common junk goes in Anderson County’s system:

What it isWhere residents take it
Furniture, appliances, electronics, scrap metalMost county convenience centers
Yard debrisSlabtown center, 728 Pickens Dr, Pendleton
TiresMaterials recovery facility, 104 Landfill Rd, Belton
Your own construction debrisStarr C&D landfill, 390 Roy Arnold Rd, Starr

The Slabtown center is closed Wednesdays. Most of the county’s 13 centers keep Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm hours, but check Slabtown’s before you load up.

Where do old tires go?

To Belton, not to a convenience center. Anderson County’s centers don’t take tires, so residents bring them to the materials recovery facility at 104 Landfill Rd in Belton, where the first 10 are free and each one after that is $4.15. South Carolina also bans whole tires from landfills. If tires are riding along with a bigger load, we take them for $10–$15 each.

What about remodel debris?

If it’s your own project and you have a truck, the Starr C&D landfill takes it at no charge for county residents. Keep construction debris and land-clearing debris in separate loads, because the county doesn’t take them mixed. Starr is open weekdays from 7:30am to 3:45pm and Saturdays from 8 to 11:45am.

When there’s no truck, or the drywall and tile are upstairs, we load it for you. Heavy material like tile, brick and shingles fills the trailer by weight before it fills by space, so we load it only about a foot deep. Construction debris removal has the details. On a long remodel with debris coming out every weekend, a dumpster may fit better; junk removal vs. dumpster rental lays out when each one makes sense.

What happened to Pendleton’s recycling?

The town’s fact sheet says its 2025 recycling loads were rejected as contaminated. The practical takeaway is to keep bulky junk and bagged trash out of the recycling entirely. A broken lamp, a box of old cords or a cracked plastic chair belongs with the junk, not in the recycling.

Pendleton rentals and turnovers

Pendleton sits next to Clemson, so its rentals can feel the same early-May move-out rush. For a landlord, the job is a unit cleared of whatever the last tenant left: a box spring against the wall, a broken bed frame, a sofa on the porch, a closet of bagged clothes. Send photos and we confirm a price from them; then we load from wherever things are and sweep up after. We set aside usable furniture and appliances for donation when they’re in good shape, and Goodwill’s Pendleton store is at 7709 Hwy 76. Our Clemson page has the university’s move-out dates.

Pendleton: questions

Is the Slabtown center open on Wednesdays?

No. The Slabtown center at 728 Pickens Dr is closed Wednesdays. Most Anderson County centers run Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm, but check Slabtown’s hours with the county before a trip.

Can I take my own remodel debris to the Starr landfill?
